Treatment philosophy is based upon harm reduction offering detoxification and maintenance

The centre has a Specialist Drug
Service staff; 1 senior drug worker, 4 drug workers of which two registered nurses and one
social worker and a nursing staff which consists of 1 ward manager, 1 clinical team
leader, staff nurses, enrolled nurses and nursing assistants. There is a doctor; senior
house officer and a consultant psychiatrist.
This inpatient drug service is
being run on an acute psychiatric ward for people who wish to come of drugs, need to
stabilize or need to be titrated on to a methadone prescription
