Treatment philosophy is based upon harm reduction offering detoxification and maintenance programmes. The average dose of methadone prescribed is 30 mg.
Currently the centre treats 150 patients, with a maximum capacity of 250 patients.
There is no maximum duration of treatment and a waiting list of 3-4 weeks

The centre demands:

- urine checks
- compile with contract.
Non-attendance, verbal abuse, violence and fraud with prescriptions or urine samples can get patient expelled from treatment.
 
Everyone on a course has to sign a contract and give random specimens.
The centre does shared care with G.P.’s and works with a combination of methadone then lofexodine, then naltrexone.

This centre provides a 24hour assessment, needle exchange and residential service to drug users in the West of Scotland.
 
Treatment philosophy is based upon harm reduction offering detoxification and maintenance programmes. The centre specialises in work with people who are excluded from other services because of their chaotic lifestyles and challenging behaviour.
The centre employs 37 professionals of which 2 doctors, 10 nurses, 13 social workers, 3 maintenance, 3 administrators and 3 managers.
The average dose of methadone prescribed is 50 mg.
Currently the centre treats 35 patients. There is no waiting list.
The centre demands daily attendance.
Non-attendance (more than three days) and violence can get patient expelled from treatment.

The centre is solely dependent on local general practitioners. They operate the methadone programmes directly from GP surgeries and use local pharmacies for dispensing.
