- To benefit by methadone treatment
the patient has to consult a doctor owning an authorisation to prescribe methadone. The
authorised doctor prescribes the treatment (dosage, supervision, other supports for
patient, etc.) for each patient personally.
- The patient has to be clearly
dependent on opioids and has to demonstrate to be personally convinced of this treatment
and to assert that he will respect the rules of treatment.
- Methadone is provided either by an
authorises doctor (in his office) or by a pharmacist.

- For a short stay the patient has
the opportunity to bring his own drug dosage always with a certification of treatment.

wants to be treated for a longer period he has to contact one of the four drop-in
institutions, which will plan the stay according to every single case.
