This is the coordination centre
for 18 ambulatory services in the province. these services have around 6000
patients in treatment and work with a staff of total 113 persons:
25 doctors
2 nurses
22 psychologists
13 social workers
15 educators
26 administrative workers
4 managers
6 other (staff of direction)
Various forms of treatment are available:
detoxification, maintenance, harm reduction, therapeutic communities etc.
Various services are offered: medical
care, social assistance, psychiatric care, psycho-therapy
Patients are expected to attend daily,
give urine samples and have mandatory meetings with social work
the average dose of methadone is 80
mg per day
In case of non-attendance and violence
the patient can be expelled from the program
Procedures for taking
patients from other programs
It is possible for patients of
other programs to receive methadone in one of the centers. The center has
to be informed beforehand by FAX. In this fax the following information
should be provided:
identity of patient
treatment history
dose
a reference where the information
can be checked
the period for which the
provision is requested
The patient should also present
a paper from his/her doctor at arrival
There are no costs involved
