The centre employs 10 professionals of which 3 doctors, 2 nurses, 1 psychiatrist, 1 administrator, and 1 psychologists. The centre treats 320 patients with a maximum capacity of 350 patients.
Treatment philosophy of this centre is based upon harm reduction offering detoxification and maintenance programmes. The average dose of methadone prescribed is 55 mg. There is no waiting list and no maximum duration of treatment.

Violence can get patient expelled from treatment.
Procedures for taking patient for a SHORT period of TIME:
The centre should be informed beforehand by fax, email or letter.

The information necessary is:
- identity
- dose and period for which methadone is requested
- references where information can be checked

When visiting the patient has to bring a letter from his doctor.
There are costs for methadone involved, namely 1250,00 SIT= 12 DEM for 100 mg methadone)

Additional information:
The main target group of the centre is heroin addicts. Special target groups are substance dependent mothers, addicts in custody, addicts entering abstinent programmes and parents.
Hepatitis B, C, HIV status together with counseling.
There is group or individual psycho-social support and the centre organises sport activities.

Procedures for patients who want to enter the programme on a PERMANENT BASIS are different since the patient needs health insurance for this.
