- The organisation is low threshold and treats 275
methadone patients a day (the maximum number they are able to treat is 325/daily) and a
total of 525 ex-heroine abusers. there is no waiting list.
- The staff involved in the methadone treatment
counts 13 members, of which two doctors, five nurses, three social workers, an educator,
an administrator and a manager.
- The organisation offers detoxification,
maintenance and rehabilitation programmes. The average dose of methadone prescribed
is 30 mg, although the centre is involved in scientific research with high dosages of
methadone (more than 85 mg).
