One centre is responsible for all methadone patients in the county of Ribe:

 

CENTRE FOR MISBRUG I RIBE AMT

 

If a patient from another country needs to be treated in the county of Ribe his centre/General Practitioner under who´s treatment he is at the time leaving to Denmark needs to contact the centre to set up a written agreement that the centre in Ribe will treat the patient concerned.

In that agreement the following must be noted:

- duration of prescription

- task and division of responsibility between centre/doctor who treats patient "at home" and Centre for Misbrug

- payment for methadone provision and/or treatment.

 

Patients that want to enter the Centre for Misbrug on a permanent basis need to have a medical examination and a treatment interview with one of the social workers at the Centre. The application is then discussed at a visitation meeting. At this meeting an action plan is drawn up, indicating both part and main goals.

In connection with the treatment goals, a co-operation agreement is entered. The agreement contains a number of points, amongst others the following, which is not accepted:

- violence or threats of violence against other clients or staff

- crime

- misuse of drugs and alcohol

 

The methadone is provided in liquid form and consumed under supervision.
